What is Body Attack?

Body Attack is a high energy fitness workout that caters for beginners through to athletes and fitness enthusiasts. It combines athletic movements with strength exercises to give the body a total cardio workout.

It’s a class that is designed to get your adrenaline pumping with the aim of improving your cardiovascular health, increasing your core strength and shaping lean muscle mass. We offer Body Attack in Morley, Baldivis and Southern River.

What it’s based on

Body Attack is a program from the stable of Les Mills International, the New Zealand based company responsible for a range of popular group exercise workouts. As with all Les Mills programs, Body Attack is choreographed to adrenaline pumping music and follows a set format.

What it involves

Body Attack classes in Perth are available as 30, 45 or 60 minute workouts and a typical class will incorporate a big range of energetic moves including running, jumping, push ups, lunges, side steps and burpees, as well as a range of low impact options, depending on your level of fitness.

There are 11 tracks in a 60 minute class and the format is normally a warm-up followed by specific movements from aerobics, plyometrics and upper and lower body conditioning, with a cool-down period at the end.

Typical moves include step touches, marches, high knee runs, lunges, hops, squats, kicks, planks, push ups, hovers, burpees, crunches, ladder runs, snowboards, ski jumps, mountain climbers and jumping jacks.

Don’t worry if you don’t know what any of these moves entails, as your instructor will explain each of them in turn as you encounter them during the workout.
