What is Shred?

SHRED is a workout that combines compound weight lifting with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to burn calories and improve strength, performance and conditioning. It does this by focusing on different exercise disciplines such as speed, resistance, endurance and dynamics. We offer Shred 2.0 in Morley, Baldivis and Southern River.

What it’s based on

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a type of training that involves short bursts of high-intensity exercise interspersed with short periods of recovery. This type of training can burn large amounts of fat in a short period of time and Shred combines HIIT with weights in order to not only burn fat, but to maintain and build muscle mass as well.

Shred offers you the best of both worlds; a high intensity cardio workout combined with compound weight training, both designed to build lean muscle and burn fat away

A typical Shred class is usually 45 minutes in length and begins with a warm up routine and some coaching from your instructor on the types of weights you’ll be lifting and the various moves you’ll be using during  the workout. You’ll then start by working through a number of different compound lifts, each interspersed with a different HIIT exercise.

After five or so lifts and five different HIIT exercises, which may include moves such as squats, sit ups, box jumps and running, a Shred class will then usually wrap up with a finishing exercise such as bar stretches or a superset with an allocated partner to push you both even further when working as a team.

Shred classes involve pumping music, lots of enthusiastic encouragement from instructors and a fun, upbeat, fast-paced atmosphere and they’re a great way to burn fat, build muscle and enjoy yourself all at the same time.
